The Dubai Mall is a 1.1 million square metre, four-story mall, built on the shore of a 30-acre (0.5 billion gallon) man-made lake. The Mall is a unique blend of sophisticated retail and luxury leisure facilities, including over 1,200 individual shops and more than 100 restaurants. The Mall has a ten-story parking garage with 14,000 parking spaces, the world’s largest indoor aquarium (10 million litres), a 22 screen mega-Cineplex, NHL/IHL Ice Rink, two concert music stages, fashion runway and 23 water fountains. Global and regional retailers have brought their market brands into the palatial glass, steel and precast concrete mall, which has transformed shopping and leisure in Dubai as the Emirate bids to become the retail capital of the world. The Avenues Mall is the largest shopping mall in Kuwait. The mall is located in the Rai area extending from Fifth Ring Road from the south and Al Ghazali Highway from the east. The Avenues was inspired by the great cities of the world, developed as a collaboration between Gensler’s urban designers, landscape architects, architects, interior designers, and brand designers. This retail centre offers a signature shopping experience with more than 1,100 retail units and food and beverage outlets in a dramatic scheme of The Grand Avenue, SoKu, Prestige, The Forum, Electra, The Souk etc. The development was designed as a piece of cityscape, with a network of streets and plazas, covered by an ETFE roof for maximum natural sunlight, yet a high degree of solar protection and variable shading opportunities. The Avenues Riyadh retail project extends across a plot of 390,000 square meters and is located at a prime location on King Salman Road and the King Fahad Causeway. The project’s built-up area is more than 1.9 million square metres , consisting of more than 1,300 stores is going to be one of the largest commercial malls in the Middle East. Part of the project will consist of a number of towers that include two hotels – five-star and four-star, residential apartments, offices and parking for 18,000 vehicles.
